Under the guise of a night out with a group of friends, Steve puts a plan into action....my mom joins me at a local spa for a haircut and a manicure appointment that
she scheduled. Afterwards, she suggests a trip to Target for a new pair of jeans. I should have known something was up because she was d-r-a-g-g-i-n-g through the
store, stopping to look at every little thing she could. When we finally returned to my house, which also seemed like forever because she was doing what felt like 10
miles per hour, we pull in the driveway and I jump out of the car to hurry in the house so I can get ready for my night out, and suddenly the garage door flies open
and there are my friends, neighbors, and family members, some dressed in hippie-60's outfits and all yelling "Surprise" in unison! The inside of the garage was
decked out in a 60's theme, complete with black walls decorated with a huge butterfly and brightly colored flowers and little butterflies. There were cocktail tables
with mini lava lamps, blacklights in the ceiling fixtures, music, and a fog machine! Inside the house were two caterers who cooked an awesome meal, and a
cardboard volkswagon beetle painted pink with a big peace sign, more butterflies and flowers. It was a party I will never forget that lasted into the early morning
hours. And I honestly never saw it coming! Thanks so much to Steve, for planning such and awesome party for me, those who helped with the decorations and getting
the house ready for the party. And thanks to all who came to the party to help make it a great time, and thank you to all of you for your kind and generous gifts. It
was more than I'd have dreamed of, and the party was rocking!!
