The Perry Family |
Our trip began with a stop in Ohio to spend a night with some good friends. We had a great time visiting with them and their children, and wish them the best in their new home and community. Even though there wasn't any snow on the ground the night we arrived, we awoke the next morning snow 2 inches deep and counting. The rest of the trip went well, and we arrived in Petosky after about 7 hours, New Years Eve. Once we got settled in our room, we were treated to a delicious dinner and afterwards a horse-drawn sleighride through town. Christian didn't realize that there were actual horses pulling the sleigh, so you can imagine his excitement when at the end of the ride he finally saw them! The next day Morgan, Steve and Tyler were fortunate enough to go snowmobiling courtesy of some of the brides' good friends. The remainder of the trip we stayed in a ski chalet in the Boyne Mountain ski resort with family members. There, we enjoyed some snowtubing with Steves' cousins and their wives and children, and swam in two different heated pools and hot tubs that were outside of the main lodges, just at the bottom of the main ski slopes. In the first pool, it was snowing out while we were sitting in the pool, and that was really awesome, The wedding was heartwarming, inspiring, and well-orchestrated with a most beautiful bridal party, and a bride who looked like she just stepped off the cover of "Bridal Magazine" (the groom didn't look too bad either!!). Christian was in the bridal party as the "Ring Bearer", and he did well too. If you know Christian, than you will know that his walk down the aisle resembled less a slow yet purposeful journey and more of a red carpet stroll! But aside from that, there were many touching moments during the wedding ceremony. Afterwards we all had a great time at the reception, and it seemed like all the other guests did too. The food was delicious and the service was great as well. Thank you, Vince and Rachel, for including us in your special day....it truly was a "Winter Wonderland" wedding!
